Still has four wheels (unfortunately) and all windows. Dropped it off at a nice German indie shop nearby so they can throw it on a lift.

I also accidentally stumbled across a giant homeless camp walking back to get it. Note to self: you might like walking, but just pay for a ride share.

...yeah. So the car was hit by a snow plow in 2015, and the hatch and rear bumper were replaced. Whoever the body shop used to replace the hatch stripes was total shit (the rest are original and not peeling). I’ve been too cheap to do anything about it.

Got home at 2 am, I had trouble getting motivated this morning. I was so afraid I’d get there and the car would be gone and I didn’t have the energy to deal with that!

boy, that is a kinda shady spot, industrial and not exactly likely to have many eyes watching.

It’s WEIRD! Like there are a ton of hotels from when Stapleton was the airport, and then industrial stuff and homeless camps galore. I think I inspected a trucking center not far from there.

Apparently the hood became un latched when I hit whatever it was, which I didn’t notice yesterday. I was definitely surprised to still see the battery.

(And I don’t reaaalllly want the hassle of an insurance claim, but we all have a list of other things we’d want to drive if the opportunity presented itself, right?)

well of COURSE we all have a list. just becuase I have WAY too many cars right now, doesn’t mean I dont scour craigslist and FB marketplace for some “just in case I need a parts car, or a new daily, or I win the lottery” cars

Yeah, the municipality will eventually declare it a public health issue and shut it down, and they’ll just move somewhere else. The amount of trash was incredible.

I ran over a ladder or a piece of scaffolding or something on I-70 at 4am. Since the tire pressure monitor light was already on I had to pull over, saw one was going flat, and ditched the car to catch my flight.
